We often hear from customers that Asana makes a difference and helps them accomplish more together as a team. But just how much of a difference does Asana make?
We recently commissioned IDC to conduct a study to understand the substantial impact Asana has on an organization’s ability to focus on higher-value work and customer delivery. The results were published in the IDC Business Value White Paper, sponsored by Asana, The Business Value of Asana (doc #US48130821, August 2021).
To determine the ROI of Asana for these organizations, IDC explored the value and benefits of using Asana to support and enhance internal collaboration, workflows, and project delivery. IDC conducted eleven in-depth interviews with organizations that have deep knowledge of Asana and rely on the platform to get work done every day.
Explore key insights on fostering high-value collaboration within your team. Learn strategies to boost productivity and drive successful outcomes.
IDC found that study participants captured significant value from using Asana—adding up to a 437% three-year ROI. Asana is particularly powerful when it comes to higher employee productivity—saving an organization $341,900 per 100 Asana daily users.
“IDC research established the paths to significant enterprise value by effectively connecting people with modern tools that they need to not just feel more connected and effective, but to be significantly more productive,” according to Wayne Kurtzman, IDC Research Director for Communities and Collaboration applications. “Seeing the significant increase in employee satisfaction in our research suggests Asana is meeting employee’s new and advanced expectations of how technology can help them meet customer demands.”
According to the IDC white paper’s findings, Asana customers report significant reduction in the amount of time employees spend on less productive tasks, enabling them to focus on business fulfillment, customer service, and high-impact innovation. These benefits include increased productivity, higher revenue, and reduced operational costs worth more than five times their investment in Asana over three years. Additionally, Asana:
Frees employees to focus on higher-value activities by reducing work about work, including unnecessary meetings and searching for information
Helps employees meet more project deadlines by providing visibility into workflows, responsibilities, and goals
Automate core business processes, reducing process-related risk and time requirements
Enables line-of-business teams to work more efficiently and effectively by providing better access to information and improved workflows for carrying out day-to-day work
“According to our Anatomy of Work Index, a staggering 60 percent of time at work is spent on work about work, including searching for information and chasing the status of work,” said Anne Raimondi, Asana’s COO. “By delivering customers the clarity and alignment they need to stay connected, Asana reduces work about work as evident by the IDC white paper’s impressive findings, including reducing the time spent searching for information by 55% and increasing time for creative and innovative work by almost 80%. By increasing employee’s productivity by 5.5%, we’re enabling millions of customers to achieve their missions faster.”
