At Asana, we’re big fans of helping teams collaborate to hit goals they might never have thought possible. Forms is a centerpiece of that collaboration. With Forms, you can streamline work requests, clarify expectations, and get all of the information your team needs to get started on work.

Today we’re excited to announce brand new Forms features to make it even easier for teams to standardize their work intake process and provide clarity as teams continue navigating remote work and changing business needs.

Manage work requests in one place with Forms branching, customization, and more

Forms lets you create a standardized intake process and centralized work requests in Asana, so your team can easily prioritize and track work with all of the necessary context.

Now, Forms are more powerful than ever. With Forms branching, you can ensure your respondents only answer relevant questions, while still making sure you get the information you need to kick off work. Learn more about Forms branching.

We’ve also added email notifications for form submitters so when a team member, client, or customer submits a form, they’ll get a confirmation in their email inbox.

In addition, we’re bringing custom field mapping to Forms. With custom field mapping, you can populate specific form responses directly into task components like the date field, the title field, or any other custom field you create. For example, if your form includes a question about when the project is due, you can now easily map the response to the task’s due date.

We’re also making Forms more flexible. You can now choose to remove the name and email requirement on a form submission, enable multiple attachments within the attachment section, and even duplicate Forms with projects and custom templates. Asana Business and Enterprise customers can further customize their form headers or set custom email response messages, so submitters know they’re in the right place. See it in action:

Automate processes to ensure work moves forward

As always, you can create Rules with Forms, so you can spend more time getting work done instead of coordinating it. With Rules, you can select a trigger and action combination to streamline work and ensure your team hits critical steps.

For example, you can use Rules and Forms to:

  • Track creative production requests. Use Forms custom field mapping to create a custom field for the type of request (e.g. copywriting or asset creation). Then use Rules to automatically send requests to the right assignee based on request type.

  • Coordinate team workload. Create a Rule that adds every form submission to your team staffing project, so you have a clear sense of what everyone is working on.

  • Keep stakeholders informed. Use Forms custom field mapping to create a custom field for work priority level (e.g. P0, P1, or P2). Then, when the form is submitted, create Rules to add relevant stakeholders as collaborators.
